BREATHWORK

Controlled breathing reduces stress, increases alertness, and boosts your immune system.

People who practice breathwork describe feeling tingling sensations throughout their body, feelings of clarity, alertness, and increased mind-body connection. Breathwork is proven to alkalize your blood PH, has an anti-inflammatory effect, inspires emotional purging, and elevates your mood.

Even a few deep breaths can lower blood pressure, lower cortisol levels, and increase parasympathetic tone.

MEDITATION

A meditation-based practice increases one’s sense of being in the present. It has also been used to describe a non-meditative state where subjects set aside their mental distractions to pay greater attention to the here and now.  Studies have shown benefits against various physical and mental conditions, including anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Meditation boosts physical and mental awareness in the present moment, inspiring a state of interoception. Participants engaged in focusing their attention on the here and now can break the cycle of negative self-rumination and feel more profound gratefulness for life and the present moment.

QI-GONG

Qigong increases the lymphatics and circulatory system’s efficiency, improves sympathetic-parasympathetic balance, optimizes immune function, and enhances neurotransmitter production.

Reviews of clinical studies on qigong have reported improvement in the management of cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, immune function, and pain disorders and improved muscular strength, stamina, posture, flexibility, balance, and mood. Therapeutic exercise also enhances the production and delivery of co-enzymes and antioxidants, connective tissue repair, and the enhancement of stem cell development.

Bottom line, Kung Fu is rad, and it feels good!

SOUND THERAPY

You’ve no doubt felt it: Whether it’s Mozart or Skrillex, music can elicit a variety of reactions in your body and mind. Sound eases, energizes, and empowers us, improves focus, and decreases physical pain.

Essentially, sound and music are noninvasive, simple, and cost-effective therapeutic tools.  Standard sound therapy instruments include Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, gongs, tuning forks, chimes, and voice.

TEA CEREMONY

A tea ceremony is a form of meditation that allows you to relish in the calm stillness of the moment while being carried away and guided by the tea’s flavor and history.

A tea ceremony is a silent meditation that allows you to focus on the tea, yourself, and the tranquility of life.  As you drink tea, you also meditate and relish in the five senses’ experience unperturbed by the distractions of our hectic lives.  It’s a great way to take a break from our busy lives and allows the moment to speak for itself.  Let your mind quietly wander as you drink tea and enjoy the intricate beauty of existence.

YIN-YOGA

Yin Yoga is a slower meditative-based yoga practice that targets your deep connective tissues, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s a quieter and more meditative practice that gives you space to turn inward and tune into your mind and body’s physical sensations. Because you’re holding the poses for a more sustained period than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your experience.

The yin practice can help the body restore range of motion, revitalize the body’s tissues, offer a unique opportunity to cultivate gratitude for the body, and allows us to slow down and experience self-compassion.
